9-11 My Thoughts and Prayers

9-11-01, ten years ago the terrorists attacked America.  They plunged a dagger into the heart of our country, changing us forever.

Today, terrorism still exists. There are some of the 9/11 plotters and supporters still free to continue their reign of terror.  There are other terror organizations as well.  The United States is still the target of these terrorist groups.  Let me be blunt as to my feelings towards terrorists who seek to indiscriminately harm and get pleasure from the harming of the men, women and children of the United States.  To this I say: Eliminate the F*cking Terrorists!!!

The upcoming 9-11 memorial service is a travesty.  To ban the clergy from the memorial ceremony is insane.  Our country was founded on religion and religious freedoms.  In the days following the attack, people turned towards their faith to get them through that time.  It was the clergy of all faiths who were supportive to the friends and families of victims.  The clergy of all faiths should participate, to bring comfort and understanding to the memorial service. It is, after all, a memorial service.  A time to remember, to reflect and to pray.  To Mayor Bloomberg I say: you have no right barring the clergy from this memorial.  The people want and need the clergy at the memorial and you are denying them this.  Prayer is comforting. To exclude prayer it is to deny the people a chance to be comforted by their faith.  To those who do not believe in one religion or another, or religion or God at all, those people can stand quietly during those portions and reflect themselves upon the day and the significance of the events.

As we look to the tenth anniversary and to the sham of a memorial service I must make a special mention of all the brave men and women who with out hesitation helped their fellow men and women.  For those first responders who ran toward disaster instead of away we must thank you.  For you to be purposefully excluded from the memorial events is an outrage and belittles the acts of these truly courageous people and is truly unconscionable.  They should be heralded as the heroes that they are!

The NYC 9-11 memorial service is a mockery of all that this country stands for, faith and bravery and honor.

I pray for  those who were lost, for those left behind and I honor those who gave selflessly of themselves.

Dear Lord, Please watch over those in your keeping and comfort those who are left behind.  Bless those who selfishly gave of themselves to save others.
For those who perished on that fateful day:
Hold them and keep them.
Grant perfect rest on the wings of Your Divine Presence
In the lofty heights of the holy and pure
who shine as the brightness of the heavens

Amen

23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul; He guideth me in straight paths for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Amen

We will never forget!
